Electrical Design Manager -Solar Projects

Responsibilities-

• Lead and manage the electrical design team for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects, ensuring effective collaboration across disciplines.
• Oversee the full design cycle from concept to construction, including detailed electrical design and calculations (AC/DC cable sizing, inverter sizing, LV/ HV layouts).
• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams, schematics, and design layouts using CAD tools (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Amtech).
• Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, regulatory codes, and client requirements.
• Develop Bills of Materials, cost estimates, and Scopes of Work, aligning technical output with commercial objectives.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, procurement, and site execution teams to enable seamless design-to-construction handover.
• Support design-related technical input for grid connection, G99/G100 applications, NICEIC/MCS compliance, and supplier engagement.
• Review and approve design documentation, conduct design audits, and attend key site stages to verify compliance and quality.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, promoting innovation and implementing structured project review processes.
• Stay updated with latest trends and technologies in solar PV and renewable energy design.

Required Qualifications-

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Systems, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of technical expertise in utility-scale or commercial solar PV design and engineering.
• Experience managing teams and multitasking across multiple projects.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Amtech, PV*SOL, Helioscope.
• Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and project management capabilities.
• Health & Safety certifications and knowledge of MCS/NICEIC/IEC standards (desirable).
