Job Description

Design and develop
electrical wiring harnesses
, control panels, and electrical schematics using
AutoCAD Electrical
or equivalent CAD tools.
Prepare and interpret
2D harness drawings
,
cable routing layouts
,
termination drawings
, and
connector interface diagrams
.
Select appropriate wires, connectors, shielding, insulation, and harnessing methods for industrial or mobile equipment.
Collaborate with mechanical design and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate cable routing and harness integration.
Develop and manage
BOMs
, wire schedules, load calculations, and electrical documentation packages.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IS, IEC, IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL, or RDSO).
Support electrical testing, validation, and troubleshooting during prototype or production phases.

Required Skills:

Strong experience in
wiring harness design
, cable layout, and electrical packaging
Familiarity with
control panel layouts
, terminal block arrangements, and routing best practices
Knowledge of
electrical safety
, grounding, circuit protection, and EMI/EMC considerations
Understanding of
DC/AC circuits
, sensors, actuators, relays, switches, fuses, and power distribution

Preferred Skills:

Experience in
rolling stock electrical systems
,
vehicle electronics
, or
defence-grade electrical systems
Knowledge of
wire harness standards
: IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL-STD, or railway-specific norms (e.g., RDSO)
Basic understanding of
PLC or microcontroller-based systems
is a plus
Experience with
3D harness routing
(e.g., in SolidWorks Electrical or CATIA) is an added advantage
