Electrical Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Electrical Schematic Design: Prepare wiring diagrams, control schematics, and panel layouts using tools like AutoCAD. • Component Selection: Selection of switchgears (MCBs, contactors, relays, PLCs, VFDs, etc.) based on load requirements, application standards • Load Calculations: Perform load analysis and sizing of cables, breakers, busbars, and transformers. • Coordination with Other Teams: Collaborate with sales, marketing and execution teams to from enquiry to despatch.

Responsibility

Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for panels including materials, labor, testing, and delivery. • Bill of Materials (BOM): Generate detailed BOMs based on panel drawings and project specifications. • Vendor Coordination: Get quotes from suppliers and compare pricing for components and accessories. 3.Testing Responsibilities • Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI): Perform or supervise factory testing of panels before delivery, ensuring functionality and quality. • Routine and Type Testing: o Continuity and Insulation Resistance Test o High Voltage (Dielectric) Test o Functional Test (control circuit verification, interlock operation) • Site Testing and Commissioning (if required): Support site installation, testing, and commissioning activities to validate proper operation. • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical issues in panels during the testing or commissioning phase. • Documentation: Prepare test reports, quality inspection documents, and commissioning certificates
