Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer specializing in Gearbox Assembly to ensure our products meet the highest industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision manufacturing, quality control, and problem-solving within gearbox production and assembly. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement quality control procedures specific to gearbox assembly. Monitor and inspect components and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering specifications. Analyze root causes of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Work closely with production, design, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues. Conduct audits and quality assessments to maintain ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other industry standards. Utilize SPC, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies to improve production quality. Ensure all documentation, including inspection reports and quality records, is maintained accurately. Provide technical guidance on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-ups in gearbox assembly. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 1 to 4 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in gearbox manufacturing or assembly. Strong understanding of gear manufacturing, tolerances, and quality inspection techniques. Experience with CMM, hardness testing, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. Proficiency in ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and Six Sigma principles. Hands-on experience with quality tools like 8D, PPAP, APQP, and SPC. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Role & responsibilities 1. Good knowledge of bought out parts like Electric Motors, coupling, instrumentation, fasteners etc. (Basically Required for pump assembly & unitization) 2. Should possess sound Technical knowledge of Motors, their types, safety aspects etc. 3. Good knowledge of Instrumentation like Temperature Indicator (RTD/PT 100), Shaft Power Monitor, Leak detector, Pressure Gauge, Transmitter etc. (This is not must however as this is very specific) 4. Updating Rollover plan, Critical & hypercritical part list with raw material availability status on time to planning dept. 14. Should have fare knowledge of Imports. 15. Updating raw material availability status for prototype parts on weekly basis & giving timely intimation to all concerned persons after dispatch of the same from supplier. 16. Co-ordination with Sals & Marketing, QA and Production team for prototype of machining at our end and feedback to supplier. 17. Ensuring fulfillment of Quality objectives.
