Job Description

As an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist at our company, you will play a crucial role in conducting comprehensive environmental impact assessments for proposed projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting detailed Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for projects in various sectors such as infrastructure, industrial, and energy. - Preparing EIA reports which encompass baseline studies, impact prediction, mitigation measures, and monitoring plans. - Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to incorporate environmental considerations into project design and planning. - Reviewing and interpreting environmental regulations, policies, and guidelines related to the projects. - Liaising with regulatory authorities and facilitating public consultations as needed. - Undertaking fieldwork to gather environmental data including soil, water, air quality, flora, and fauna assessments. - Monitoring ongoing projects to ensure compliance with environmental commitments and EIA conditions. - Keeping abreast of the latest environmental laws, standards, and best practices. - Assisting in the preparation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and sustainability reports. To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: - A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). - Proven experience in conducting EIAs and preparing associated documentation. - A strong grasp of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks. - Excellent abilities in report writing, communication, and interpersonal interactions. - Capability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams. - Proficiency in GIS and environmental data analysis tools would be advantageous. - Willingness to travel for field assessments. Additionally, the company provides benefits such as health insurance and a provident fund. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires at least 1 year of experience in EIA.
