Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled DTP (Desktop Publishing) Operator to join our editorial team for the UPSC category. The candidate will be responsible for creating, formatting, and finalizing high-quality print and digital content including textbooks, practice papers, question banks, and other academic resources. This role requires precision, speed, and an eye for design to ensure error-free, student-friendly layouts.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and formatting textbooks, question banks, and exam preparation materials
• Preparing clean, well-structured page layouts according to editorial guidelines
• Handling typesetting of mathematical, tabular, and diagram-based content
• Working on multi-color layouts, tables, infographics, and charts
• Incorporating editorial corrections, proofreaders marks, and author inputs efficiently
• Preparing print-ready PDFs and ensuring alignment with printer’s specifications
• Coordinating with the editorial team, designers, and printers to ensure timely delivery
• Ensuring consistency in fonts, spacing, margins, and styles across all publications
• Maintaining version control and file management for different projects
• Supporting the creation of digital outputs (eBooks, PDFs, promotional creatives) as required

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, CorelDraw, Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Office
• Strong knowledge of typesetting, page layout, and design principles
• Experience in handling academic/educational publishing will be an advantage
• Ability to work with mathematical equations, tables, and charts
• Keen eye for detail, accuracy, and speed
• Good understanding of print production processes
• Strong organizational and time-management skills

Qualifications

• Graduate / Diploma in DTP, Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience as a DTP Operator in publishing, preferably educational/academic books
• Freshers with strong skills and portfolio may also be considered
