Draft Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Draft Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, layouts, and documentation for Solar (Ground-Mounted, Rooftop, Floating) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.

The role requires strong drafting skills in AutoCAD, with exposure to mechanical, civil, and electrical layouts. Experience in 3D simulations using SketchUp will be a strong advantage. The Draft Engineer will work closely with design engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure drawings meet technical standards, project specifications, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings for Solar (Ground-Mounted, Rooftop, Floating) and BESS projects.
• Develop mechanical and civil drafting documents, including GA drawings, structural layouts, and support system details.
• Assist in preparing and updating electrical single-line diagrams (SLD) and cable layouts.
• Support engineers in preparing as-built drawings, technical documentation, and BOQs.
• Generate 3D models and simulations using SketchUp (preferred).
• Incorporate design revisions as per client feedback, site conditions, and engineering updates.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project specifications, standards, and industry codes.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to finalize drawings within project timelines.
• Maintain drawing records and proper document control.

Qualifications & Skills

• 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in drafting/design.
• Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and presentation quality.
• Good knowledge of international and Indian standards (IS, IEC, NEC, etc.) is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Working knowledge of SketchUp (preferred for 3D simulation and visualization).
• Strong knowledge of drafting requirements for Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Ability to draft and interpret mechanical, civil, and electrical layouts.
• Familiarity with electrical SLDs, structural detailing, and foundation drawings.
• Understanding of EPC project design workflows.
