Job Description: Veterinary Doctor at Free Treatment Centre for Stray Animals (Dogs and Cats)

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Doctor to join our team at our Treatment Centre for Street Animals. The primary responsibility of the Veterinary Doctor will be to perform ABC surgeries for cats and dogs, provide comprehensive medical care for IPD patients , treatment, and support to dogs and cats in need. The candidate will also be required to help in OPD if and when required to provide care to community animals. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to animal welfare and most importantly posses’ strong leadership qualities.
Responsibilities:
1. Medical Care and Treatment:
- Conduct critical and semi-critical check-ups on all animals daily, ensuring proper diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and other necessary treatments as per established protocols.
- Provide emergency medical care and triage when necessary, responding promptly to critical situations.
2. Hygiene and Infection Control:
- Implement and maintain strict hygiene protocols to prevent the spread of diseases and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Adhere to proper sterilization techniques for surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
- Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and biohazard materials.
3. Medicine and Supplies Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment, ensuring availability and proper storage.
- Order medications, medical supplies, and equipment as per the center's requirements and budget constraints.
- Keep accurate records of medications administered, treatments provided, and inventory management.
4. Patient Monitoring and Documentation:
- Monitor the progress and recovery of the animals under your care, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as required.
- Record all medical procedures, diagnoses, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately and timely.
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure confidentiality of all information.
5. Team Collaboration and Rotational Shifts:
- Collaborate with other veterinary doctors, veterinary technicians, and support staff to ensure coordinated care and effective treatment plans.

Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Valid and current veterinary license in [Goa]. Or VCI
- Demonstrated experience in providing medical care and treatment to dogs and cats.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, surgical procedures, and emergency care.
- Excellent diagnostic, treatment, and surgical skills.
- Ability to adhere to strict hygiene protocols and infection control measures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with the team and interacting with animal owners.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage patient workload, medicine ordering, and documentation.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach towards animals in need.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
