Director, R&D India

As the Director, R&D India at Radiometer, a Danaher operating company, you will play a crucial role in setting the strategic direction, building high-performing teams, establishing best-in-class development processes, and ensuring alignment with global business objectives. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing operational & strategic leadership for the India R&D organization, managing a team of approximately 100 associates and overseeing future growth plans in hardware, systems, and full product lifecycle disciplines. Efficiently managing budgets and resources to drive productivity and innovation. - Building and scaling new capabilities and teams beyond software, focusing on integrated product development and lifecycle support. Recruiting, training, engaging, and retaining top talent to strengthen the R&D team. - Driving a culture of continuous improvement by establishing processes aligned with regulatory compliance standards, quality systems, and cross-functional workflows. Implementing measures to identify and mitigate risks throughout the product development process. - Ensuring strong alignment and collaboration with global R&D leadership and cross-functional stakeholders within Radiometer. Fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the R&D function. - Leading external partnerships and vendor strategies to enhance internal capabilities and accelerate delivery. Representing India R&D in the global R&D leadership team and contributing to enterprise-wide strategies and decision-making. Representing Radiometer in the Danaher cross-OPCO community at BDC/IDC. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or a related technical field. - 15 years of progressive experience in R&D, including leadership roles across multi-disciplinary teams. - Proven experience in managing international stakeholders within large, global organizations. - Demonstrated success in building high-performing teams, scaling operations, and leading through change. - Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, pharma, or diagnostics. Additional experience that would be advantageous: - Experience in a product-based organization collaborating with product management and understanding market dynamics. - Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies for driving continuous improvement. - Experience in developing regionally tailored product variants in response to local market and regulatory needs. - Familiarity with co-located R&D and manufacturing operations.
