Job Description

As the Director of Technical Architecture & Automation, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and scaling the technology foundation for a rapidly growing U.S.-based solar operations and sales organization. Your main responsibilities will include architecting workflows, building integrations, creating internal tools, leading engineering execution, and driving automation across the entire company. You will work closely with the CEO to translate business and operational requirements into powerful systems and technology. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and architect the full end-to-end technical ecosystem for the company - Build scalable internal systems to streamline sales, operations, installation, QC, and finance workflows - Convert business processes into structured workflows and technical roadmaps - Ensure system architecture is modular, scalable, and designed for significant revenue growth - Own all technical workflow design across the business - Build automation logic to reduce manual labor, cut costs, and improve operational speed - Map operational ideas into technical workflows and optimize data flow across departments - Architect, build, and manage CRM infrastructure, automation, and integrations - Integrate external platforms, financiers, field tools, and internal apps with consistent, accurate data flow - Build internal web/mobile tools and write production-quality code (Node.js, Python, React or equivalent) - Lead engineering execution while scaling a development team - Recruit, mentor, and guide developers, automation engineers, and analysts - Build reporting dashboards and automated reporting systems for executive leadership - Ensure clean, accurate, and organized data across systems - Work closely with leadership to systematize operations from a technical perspective - Partner with various teams to understand workflows and improve them through automation - Act as the technical bridge between leadership ideas and system execution **Qualifications Required:** - 10-18 years of experience in software engineering, technical architecture, or enterprise business systems - Strong background in CRM platforms, workflow automation, and integrations - Experience leading development teams and collaborating closely with business/operations leadership - Full-stack engineering expertise (Node.js, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React) and knowledge of REST APIs, integrations, and backend architecture - Familiarity with cloud services, containerization, microservices, CRM automation, and custom CRM development - Strong understanding of business operations, cross-functional workflows, and process optimization - Exceptionally organized, structured thinker with high maturity and problem-solving skills - Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with leadership - Ownership mentality and the ability to drive execution without micromanagement This is an opportunity to bring structure, organization, and maturity to all technical and system-based processes, build a scalable technical department, identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and drive automation that cuts labor costs and improves performance.,
