Director Of Engineering (Site Lead)

Role Overview: You will be joining Rippling as a senior engineering leader based in Bangalore, responsible for leading the Accounting Integrations team and setting up the local hub. Your role will involve overseeing the development of the accounting integration platform that supports Rippling's finance suite, including corporate cards, reimbursements, travel, and accounting automation. As a key figure in the Spend organization, you will be responsible for driving performance, managing teams, and shaping the overall product engineering execution. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as the senior presence for the Spend organization in Bangalore, setting high standards, unblocking teams, and ensuring efficient product engineering execution. - Lead the Accounting Integrations team to build the platform and initial integrations such as QuickBooks and Microsoft, establishing repeatable pipelines and operational tooling. - Build and grow a 25+ person organization in Bangalore, establish rituals, quality bars, and velocity tracking. - Mentor junior engineering managers, manage individual contributors, and drive operational excellence in integration processes. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, GTM, and Finance Ops to prioritize impact, measure outcomes, and iterate quickly. - Establish reusable contracts, SDKs, tooling, and CI/CD standards to expedite the integration process. - Set clear goals, address performance issues promptly, and lead with a hands-on and detail-oriented approach. Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership, with at least 2 years managing managers or large multi-team groups. - Demonstrated experience in launching platforms or integrations with high reliability and throughput. - Strong technical expertise in distributed systems, APIs/webhooks, and data modeling, with the ability to review designs and PRs. - Proven track record of building systems with monitoring, alerting, rate limits, reconciliation, and clear SLOs/SLAs. - Skilled in hiring top talent, leveling accurately, managing performance effectively, and translating requirements into successful outcomes. - Experience with accounting/ERP systems, travel content providers, or financial data flows is a plus.,
