As the Director of Engineering, your role will involve leading the development of high-impact technology solutions and overseeing the growth and evolution of engineering teams. You will play a crucial part in shaping the future of the engineering organization by driving cross-functional collaboration and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing systems. Your responsibilities will include: - Working closely with Engineering, Product, and Business teams to drive alignment on customer experiences and engineering frameworks, making critical decisions to drive success. - Designing and implementing 0 to 1 solutions with a focus on scalability, transitioning them quickly from 1 to n across multiple products. - Building and leading high-performing engineering teams, collaborating with Product, Design, and Leadership to convert ideas into quality products. - Fostering a customer-first mindset and empowering teams to take ownership and deliver high-quality products. - Ensuring operational excellence while maintaining stability and scalability as products evolve and mature. - Setting clear priorities, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring teams have the tools and guidance needed to succeed. - Providing technical guidance, career development, and mentorship to team members, supporting their growth and driving the technical success of the team. Qualifications required for this role include: - 12+ years of overall experience, with 3+ years of experience in Engineering Management, leading diverse engineering teams (frontend, backend, mobile). - Strong background in software engineering methodologies, with a focus on testing, code quality, and the ability to balance quality and speed. Key skills that are essential for this position: - Exceptional technical skills in backend systems, with significant experience in building and operating high-scale systems, with a hands-on approach to lead from the front when the situation calls for it. - Strong design and architectural skills to guide the development of scalable solutions. Soft skills and traits that will be valuable in this role: - Proven ability to build and grow teams, including interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring engineers. - Strong management and team development skills, with a focus on setting roadmaps, delegating effectively, and delivering results. - Excellent at providing frequent feedback, supporting career growth, and driving continuous improvement across teams.
