Director of Engineering, Financial Technology Systems

Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading and managing the technical strategy and execution of financial technology services within Fanatics Commerce. As the Director of Engineering, Financial Technology Systems, you will need to possess strategic vision, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of financial systems to deliver scalable and compliant solutions. Your role will involve overseeing the integration and daily operation of Oracle ERP and Microsoft D365 ERP systems, leveraging AWS, OCI, and Azure to manage a collection of integration services. Key Responsibilities: - **Technical Leadership:** - Manage a large team aligned to execute on the strategic goals of the Fanatics executive team. - Develop and execute a cohesive technical strategy focusing on Oracle ERP, D365 ERP, and their integration with other enterprise systems. - Lead data footprint strategy to optimize services like Starrocks, Snowflake, Fabric Lake, Oracle OCI, Spark, Glue Catalog, and Iceberg for enhanced data integration and scalability. - Champion engineering best practices to ensure high reliability and performance across financial technology systems. - **Data Engineering & BI Enablement:** - Oversee data engineering efforts to ensure accurate, timely, high-quality data pipelines. - Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to provide foundational data structures for actionable insights. - Support financial predictive modeling and performance management-related data engineering. - **Operational Excellence:** - Ensure robust day-to-day support for Oracle ERP, D365 ERP, and related systems to minimize downtime and optimize user experiences. - Address operational challenges and establish frameworks for efficient issue resolution and continuous improvement in operations. - **Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:** - Partner with product, finance, supply chain, and BI teams for seamless integration of financial systems into broader business processes. - Work closely with remote engineering centers to align global initiatives and inspire high-performing teams. - **Innovation & Scaling:** - Support Gen AI-based opportunities in Financial Technology. - Lead migration of legacy systems to modern architectures for scalability and efficiency. - Drive adoption of scalable agile processes for effective program management. - **Team Development:** - Mentor and grow engineering teams to foster innovation, accountability, and technical excellence. - Ensure teams are skilled in high-scale systems and cutting-edge technologies to meet evolving business needs.
