Director Engineering

Role & responsibilities

• Experience: years of experience in progressive software and engineering leadership within product-driven organizations.
• Team Leadership: Proven track record of leading large-scale engineering teams of 100+ engineers, including multi-layer leadership structures.
• Product Environment: Deep experience in product development environments
• Technical Depth:
• Key ask is Full Stack Development
• Strong hands-on - Java, Spring Boot, and microservices-based architectures, Javascript (React or Angular or Vue, etc.)
• Cloud platforms with preference for Azure
• Containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
• Event-driven and messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent if any
• Delivery & Execution: Demonstrated success in Agile/Scrum and DevOps delivery models, driving predictable, high-quality outcomes.
• End-to-End Ownership: Ownership of the entire product lifecycledesign, build, release, operate, and continuous optimization.
• Enterprise Systems: Exposure to large-scale, highly available, enterprise-grade systems with strong reliability and performance expectations.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Effective collaboration with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Business stakeholders.
• Global Team Management: Experience managing distributed and global teams across geographies and time zones.
• People Leadership: Strong people-management capabilities, including coaching senior leaders, succession planning, talent development, and performance management.
• Executive Engagement: Proven ability to partner with CTO, CIO, and senior business leaders, translating business priorities into engineering strategy.
• Strategic & Technical Balance: Ability to balance hands-on technical credibility with strategic decision-making and long-term vision.
