Director - Compliance Operations

As the Head of Compliance Operations at Nium, you will be an integral part of the global Operations team, overseeing the Compliance Operations function. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all compliance-related activities are carried out in accordance with internal and external standards, within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will lead the 1st Line of Defence activities for various products and jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to risk appetites and regulatory requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Ensure completion of all compliance activities within defined standards and SLAs - Maintain adequate staffing levels and utilize projection tools for demand forecasting - Engage, select, and manage 3rd party providers for effective compliance operation volume management - Define clear escalation points to 2nd line and Senior Management and ensure adherence - Lead reviews of new Products and Jurisdictions on behalf of Compliance Operations - Identify control gaps and implement enhancements to ensure compliance - Establish and maintain compliance Quality Checking (QC) and testing activities - Develop and enhance Operational policies and procedures - Participate in Compliance external audits, exams, and support bank partner requests - Ensure operational reporting to partner banks is timely and accurate - Drive process improvements through automation and technology - Contribute to global Compliance Committees and business projects **Requirements:** - Minimum 10 years of experience in senior compliance roles within regulated companies - Knowledge of Compliance topics such as KYB / KYC, AML/CFT, Sanctions, etc. - ACAMS / CRCM / ICA certification preferred - Experience in correspondent banking, banking as a service, and Financial Institution clients - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to lead process and control improvements cross-functionally and geographically - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills At Nium, competitive salaries, performance bonuses, sales commissions, equity for specific roles, and recognition programs are offered to reward your hard work.
