Direct Tax Lead

The key responsibilities and accountabilities for the position include: Preparation of Provisional Tax Computation, Deferred tax computation, and Advance tax computations for Biocon Generics entities in India and overseas. This involves handling all Direct Tax and Transfer Pricing compliances, including the preparation and filing of tax returns, tax-related forms, Master file, and Country-by-Country Reporting. Additionally, the role involves managing Tax audits, TP audits, Trust audits, and ensuring end-to-end tax compliances for identified entities of the Generics business of Biocon Group across India and overseas. Coordinating with Tax/Statutory auditors, resolving queries, preparing tax schedules and reconciliation, and ensuring alignment between tax returns and books are also key responsibilities. The role includes compiling details and preparing submissions against any tax notice received in a timely manner, as well as coordinating with external consultants on appeal matters. Maintaining and monitoring a centralized repository of ongoing litigations and risk status, supporting mergers, acquisitions, or corporate restructuring initiatives from a tax standpoint, and filing quarterly returns with PLI authorities are also part of the responsibilities. The required educational qualification for this role is CA, and the total experience required is 3-4 years post-qualification. The required skills and competencies for the role include proficiency in MS Office, exposure to financial tools, knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry (preferred), in-depth knowledge of Indian Income Tax laws and related regulations, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with multiple stakeholders within and outside the organization, clear and confident communication, and experience in SAP is considered a plus.,
