Role & responsibilities

Job Objective-

The Digital Technology and Innovation Coach is a member of the Pedagogical Leadership Team at an International School, responsible for advancing teaching and learning through the purposeful, innovative and ethical integration of technology.

The coach supports teachers, students and leaders to enhance learning with technology, learning about technology and learning through technology, ensuring technology is used as a tool for inquiry, creativity and innovation, collaboration and problem solving.

The role is non-evaluative, grounded in trust, collaboration and professional growth. The Technology Coach builds teacher capacity, guides curriculum alignment, supports student digital fluency and ensures that technology use reflects the IB and Cambridge philosophy and Client's mission of nurturing confident, curious and responsible learners who will thrive in a digital world.

The Digital Technology & Innovation Coach will focus also on the emerging role of how we use AI responsibly as a learning community both in a school setting and beyond.

Roles reporting to the Position

Primary Responsibilities-

Instructional Leadership and Teacher Support

  • Collaborate with teachers across grade levels to integrate technology meaningfully into the Programme of Inquiry (POI), annual curriculum plans and subject outlines. Model and support teachers in designing technology enhanced inquiry-based learning experiences enhanced by digital tools and platforms that deepen conceptual understanding and student agency.

  • Use a coaching cycle to provide personalised teacher support involving reflective practice leading to increased student learning. Co-planning lessons with a technology focus. Modelling effective technology integration.

  • Modelling and Co-teaching in classrooms. Observing and providing feedback for reflection leading to enhanced student outcomes Guide teachers in embedding digital literacy, creativity and problem-solving into daily practice. Mentor staff on the use of assistive technology and differentiation tools to meet diverse learner needs. Collect evidence of impact from coaching cycles to inform school wide professional learning priorities.

Curriculum and Programme Development

Lead the design and continuous improvement of a Digital Literacy curriculum that aligns with IB PYP requirements, Cambridge requirements and curriculum priorities. Ensure technology integration supports and enhances inquiry, conceptual understanding, collaboration and the Approaches to Learning (ATL). Curate, evaluate and recommend developmentally appropriate apps, platforms and resources to enhance student learning. Collaborate with the Co-ordinators and instructional coaches and subject leaders to ensure technology strengthens transdisciplinary learning and student agency. Implement and review the RPGIS digital citizenship framework ensuring consistent and safe practice across the organisation.

Data and Assessment

Assist teachers in using digital technology tools for formative and summative assessment, feedback and progress tracking. Support staff in using assessment and engagement data to inform planning and improve learning outcomes.

Promote the use of data dashboards and analytics to inform trends and patterns leading to enhanced practice Explore and implement digital portfolios to document student growth and achievement. Uses a range of data to assess the impact of their own role through data analysis, self-reflection and feedback.

Professional Learning Design, model and lead professional development workshops on integrating technology for inquiry, collaboration and creativity. Coach and Support teachers in setting and achieving professional goals related to technology integration and digital pedagogy. Stay abreast of global trends in edtech, IB best practices and research-based approaches, sharing insights with staff across Facilitate PLCs (professional learning communities) focused on evidence based technology integration. Expose teachers to a range of pedagogical resources for teacher use.

Community Engagement

Guide students in becoming safe, responsible and ethical digital citizens aligned with the IB Learner Profile, Cambridge Learner Attributes and values. Teach students age-appropriate digital skills to support research, collaboration and creation.

Collaborate with leaders to plan parent workshops on digital citizenship, digital wellbeing and online safety. Facilitate sessions with parents on the responsible use of technology at home.

Celebrate student innovation through exhibitions, showcases or digital projects.Professionalism and School Contribution Lead the strategic development and implementation of the school's technology plan.

Vision and plan.

Build positive, collaborative, trusting relationships with staff, students and families. Model curiosity, adaptability and lifelong learning in the use of technology. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Primary, Secondary Principal and School Principal Ensure that all aspects of culture, professionalism and role specific excellence are upheld.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience

Bachelors degree in Education, Technology Integration, or related field

  • Significant teaching experience, with demonstrated expertise in integrating technology in an international school context.

  • Strong knowledge of digital tools and pedagogical strategies for inquiry-based and student-centred learning.

  • Strong skills in communication, facilitation, and building teacher capacity.

  • Commitment to developing responsible digital citizens and fostering innovation through technology.

  • Experience in instructional coaching, professional development, or curriculum leadership preferred.

  • Familiarity with IB PYP, DP and Cambridge philosophies, standards, and practices is desirable.

  • Good Job stability - Min 2 years in a school.
