Coding Teacher

Role & responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and teach coding lessons using block-based and introductory text-based programming (e.g., Scratch, code, Python basics).
  
• Integrate computational thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills into classroom activities.
  
• Develop hands-on coding projects such as animations, games, interactive stories, robotics tasks, or simple applications.
  
• Assess student progress using formative and summative assessment tools; provide timely feedback.
  

Curriculum & Program Development

• Contribute to the design, review, and enhancement of the schools coding and technology curriculum.
  
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support interdisciplinary STEM or project-based learning initiatives.
  

Classroom Environment & Student Support

• Create an engaging, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
  
• Encourage innovation, perseverance, and responsible digital behavior.
  
• Support students in coding clubs, competitions, makerspace activities, or technology-related events as needed.
  

Preferred candidate profile

Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Education, Instructional Technology, or related field.
  
• Teaching certification/license preferred; experience in international or multicultural settings is a plus.
  
• Minimum 2 years of teaching coding or elementary ICT/technology classes.
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of foundational coding concepts suitable for students ages 7–12.
  
• Experience with elementary-friendly coding platforms (e.g., Scratch, Code.org, LEGO Robotics, Micro:bit).
  
• Ability to integrate technology with inquiry-based, student-centered pedagogy.
  
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
  
• Commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and fostering a growth mindset in students.
