Digital Marketer Roles and Responsibilities

Primary Role:


Develop and execute digital marketing strategies across channels (including WhatsApp, social media, email, etc.) to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Campaign Management:


    • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across social media, Google Ads, email, and messaging platforms.
    • Align campaigns with business goals (leads, sales, traffic, etc.).

  • WhatsApp Marketing Collaboration:


    • Work closely with the WhatsApp API Specialist to execute campaigns via WhatsApp.
    • Leverage customer segmentation to send targeted messages.

  • Content Creation & Strategy:


    • Develop content for ads, posts, landing pages, and message templates.
    • Use A/B testing to optimize messaging and visuals.

  • Analytics & Optimization:


    • Track KPIs such as ROI, CTR, engagement, and conversion rates.
    • Use tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and marketing dashboards to refine strategies.

  • Audience Targeting:


    • Build and manage audience segments for retargeting and lookalike campaigns.
    • Utilize WhatsApp and social data to personalize campaigns.
  • SEO & SEM:


    • Improve website visibility through organic and paid search.
    • Optimize content based on keyword analysis and search trends.

    • Core Responsibilities


  1. Account Setup & Integration

    • Connect WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) to Meta Business Manager.
    • Integrate with CRM tools, chatbots, or third-party platforms like Twilio, WATI, 360dialog, etc.
    • Verify the business with Meta.
  2. Messaging & Campaign Management

    • Create and manage message templates (e.g. shipping updates, promo messages).
    • Ensure compliance with WhatsApps message policies.
    • Schedule and run marketing campaigns via WhatsApp.
  3. Customer Experience & Automation

    • Implement chat automation and bots to streamline customer support.
    • Set up quick replies, away messages, and catalogues.
    • Monitor customer interactions and optimize response flow.
  4. Data & Analytics

    • Track delivery rates, open rates, response rates, and conversions.
    • Use insights to optimize message timing and content.
  5. Compliance & Security

    • Manage phone numbers, permissions, and access roles securely.
    • Ensure customer data privacy and compliance with GDPR, etc.
  6. Collaboration

    • Work with sales, support, and marketing teams to align WhatsApp strategy with business goals.

Skills Needed

  • Experience with Meta Business Manager
  • Knowledge of WhatsApp Business API and third-party platforms
  • CRM and automation tools (like HubSpot, Salesforce, Freshchat)
  • Understanding of digital marketing & customer lifecycle
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Communication skills
  • Basic technical knowledge (APIs, webhooks) is a plus
