DGM - Utility & Maintenance

Utility and Maintenance function.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Utility Operations & Maintenance

• Ensure uninterrupted operation and maintenance of critical utilities: Boiler, Turbine, Compressor, Cooling Tower, Chiller, Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), and RO Plant.
• Monitor utility KPIs (steam consumption, fuel efficiency, water & power consumption) and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate daily operations with the production team for load planning and distribution.

2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance schedules for all utility and plant equipment.
• Lead Condition Monitoring, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and breakdown analysis for reducing downtime.
• Maintain and update all maintenance records in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

3. Project Management

• Plan and execute plant modification, expansion, or new utility installation projects.
• Evaluate vendor offers, prepare technical specifications, and oversee commissioning and handover.

4. Team Management

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and operators.
• Ensure skill development and training of the maintenance team in safety and technical excellence.

5. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with statutory norms: Boiler Inspectorate, Pollution Control Board, Electrical Safety, and Factory Act.
• Maintain documentation and liaise with external authorities for renewals and inspections.
• Promote a culture of safety and sustainability through regular audits and toolbox talks.

6. Energy Management

• Drive initiatives for power, steam, and water consumption optimization.
• Conduct energy audits and implement cost-saving measures.

7. Budgeting & Cost Control

• Prepare and manage maintenance and utility operational budgets.

• Strong knowledge of distillery/chemical plant utilities and machinery
• Leadership & team management
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Hands-on experience in statutory audits & documentation
• Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance software (SAP/CMMS)
