DevOps Engineer Lead

Context:

The Portal Digit Team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing a customer-facing digital portal built on Drupal and React, integrated with Power Pages and Dynamics 365 CRM. The infrastructure is hosted on AWS with a modern CI/CD and containerized architecture. The DevOps Developer will play a crucial role in automating deployment pipelines, monitoring infrastructure, ensuring system availability, and supporting the team with scalable DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:

CI/CD & Automation:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Drupal, React, and Node.js-based applications.
• Automate deployment and testing processes using Azure DevOps and Git workflows.
• Ensure zero-downtime deployments and rollback strategies.

Infrastructure as Code:

• Use Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools to manage infrastructure on AWS.
• Maintain environments (DEV, VAL, PRE-PROD, PROD) across multiple tenants.

Monitoring & Logging:

• Set up monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other observability tools.
• Ensure proper logging practices and metrics reporting for diagnostics.

Security & Compliance:

• Implement security best practices for APIs, S3 buckets, and AWS services.
• Support WAF configuration, IAM policies, access token verification (Lambda authorizers).

Operations & Support:

• Collaborate with developers to diagnose production issues.
• Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
• Support infrastructure for portals running in multiple geographies.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with developers, QA, and technical leads to understand requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprints.
• Provide technical documentation and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience: 7+ years in DevOps or infrastructure engineering, preferably in a multi-team, multi-tenant environment.
• Tools: Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes (ECS/EKS), Terraform.
• Cloud: Deep knowledge of AWS services: CloudFront, API Gateway, WAF, NLB/ALB, Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail.
• Languages: Bash, Python, Node.js (for automation scripts).
• Security: Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM roles, token management.
• Methodologies: Agile, ITIL practices, DevOps culture and practices.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strong troubleshooting mindset, team player.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Power Platform (Power Pages, Power Automate) integration.
• Familiarity with Drupal deployment and React-based front-end hosting.
• Knowledge of GDPR and data residency compliance in multi-country environments.

Additional Requirements:

• English: Strong written and spoken English skills are required, as the role involves daily coordination with international teams.
• Certifications: Possessing certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, or any CI/CD-related certifications is considered a strong advantage.
