Devops Engineer

Summary:

The HCL DevOps Automation specialist is responsible for architecture, development, and management of automated delivery and pipelines for infrastructure, applications, and configurations in support of HCL Softwares Cloud Products.  Design, deploy, deliver, test, and document highly available, mission critical pipelines in both public, private, and hybrid clouds including all three major cloud provides (AWS, Azure, Google).  Strong experience with major automation and Continuous integration frameworks including Ansible , AWX, Azure DevOps, Github Runner, etc.

Experience:

Qualified candidates should have 7+ years of experience and a demonstrated track record in the successful design and delivery of complex devops automation pipelines in public or private cloud environments. The role requires a 4-year university degree.  Candidate should be very familiar with one or more of AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure public cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

1. Under DevOps Automation Specialist:
1. Design of complex infrastructure solutions in support of business requirements in support of the deployment of HCL Software products.
2. Development of software CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes, and Cloud PaaS environments
3. Experienced with Ansible, Azure DevOps, AWS , and other CI/CD and automation frameworks.
4. Strong knowledge of cloud deployment models
5. Knowledgeable about security requirements including encryption, vulnerability management, code scanning, etc.
6. Remediation of identified vulnerabilities either through infrastructure or working with Product teams.
7. Development of automation frameworks for patching of operational systems including Virtual machines, containerized solutions, and database systems.
8. Measuring efficiency of resource usage, tune resource requirements and implement and monitor automated scaling approaches for infrastructure and applications
9. Report on application performance, suggest architecture, infrastructure, or other tuning to achieve desired performance levels. 
10. Deployment of monitoring systems to ensure ongoing system reliability.
11. Resiliency, backup, and disaster recovery system design and deployment.

Qualifications:

• 5 years experience on Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.  
• 4 years experience in automation using ansible & AWX Tower
• Hands on experience with Kubernetes including
• Building kubernetes clusters, networking
• Building/ Deploying Cloud Applications
• Working with Helm charts
• Configuration of services and ingresses
• Strong Linux skill set, particularly RHEL and variants.
• Experience working with infrastructure as code with Ansible
• Basic networking knowledge, including IP and load balancing
• Ability to troubleshoot Cloud DevOps issues
• Experienced with Grafana Cloud, or other APM / Monitoring solution
• Performance tuning in cloud environments
• Working knowledge of SQL for basic database queries

Products:

AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.  Kubernetes, Ansible , AWX Tower.  Knowledge of database products (MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, DB2, Oracle, Aerospike).  Redhat and/or other major Linux variants.
