Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer – L1
Department: IT Support / Technical Support
Location: Onsite / Office

Job Summary

The L1 Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing first-level technical assistance to end-users. This includes troubleshooting hardware, software, networking issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support for laptops, desktops, printers, and basic network issues.
  • Troubleshoot operating system problems (Windows / macOS).
  • Install, configure, and update software and applications.
  • Manage user accounts, password resets, and access permissions.
  • Support basic LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
  • Assist with antivirus updates, system patches, and security compliance.
  • Log all incidents and service requests in the ticketing system.
  • Coordinate with L2/L3 teams for unresolved issues.
  • Set up new systems, peripherals, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Provide IT orientation for new employees (email setup, system handover, etc.).
  • Ensure timely resolution and excellent customer service.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware & peripherals.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for OS, applications, and network basics.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory (user creation, password reset, group policy basics).
  • Good communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / Graduate in IT or any, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Certifications preferred: CCNA (basic), MCP, MCSA, A+ / N+.
  • 0–2 years of experience in desktop or IT support.

Working Conditions

  • Onsite support, rotational shifts (if applicable).
  • Immediate response to urgent IT issues.
  • Ability to lift basic IT equipment (monitors, CPUs, printers).

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
