Purpose of Role:
To support BU Engineering across the division in the areas of CAD and PLM enabling the engineering team in their design work. The role involves creating detail drawings for manufacture and assembly. Creates 3D models and assemblies from sketches, drawings, and other sources. Produces detailed reports of changes to Engineering documents for use in the production of parts and assemblies. Reviews design and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards.

- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to Weir s zero-harm behaviours in support of the drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Create 3D CAD models , manufacturing drawings and assemblies for the Weir products and systems based on the design requirement
- Ensure that the deliverables align with relevant design requirements (specifications, standards, schedule, etc.) and best industry practices/guidelines.
- Execute projects assigned by the lead as per defined quality, on time delivery & schedule.
- Work independently on Auto CAD & UG NX or similar Software without supervision.
- Communicate/report/document technical information with project team and customer.
- Perform quality checking of drawing generated by peers and provide feedbacks.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with of 4 -5 years experience on UG NX & TCE
- Conversant with GD&T as per ASME Y14.5, AWS and ISO standards for welding and IS 10714 for basic drawing principles
- Strong mechanical design engineering knowledge
- Must be proficient in using 3D & 2D solid modelling tools
- Good Knowledge of PLM - Team Centre
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing process is required
- Any knowledge on CAD automation is desirable
