Designer All Levels Role Summary Designer of all levels, with excellent Revit skills. We believe the best architecture comes from a synthesis of all the elements that separately comprise and inform the character of a building: the structure that holds it up; the services that allow it to function; its ecology; the quality of natural light; the symbolism of the form; the relationship of the building to the skyline or the streetscape; the way you move through or around it; and last but not least, its ability to lift the spirits. Role Definition Job Title: Designer Reporting to: Project Leader of the current project on a day-to-day basis, and ultimately to the Senior Partner Responsibilities Prepare, develop, and edit drawings, models, images, and other documents under the guidance of the project leader Seek to understand the design project Develop representations of design options for discussion with the design team Record evidence of professional experience in accordance with RIBA or equivalent standards (e.g., AIA) Comply thoroughly with Foster + Partners procedures and standards Assist the Partner or Senior Partner as required Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) by integrating EDI into relevant workstreams Qualities and Skills Required Demonstrated ability to undertake listed responsibilities Legally permitted to work in the country of employment Strong design understanding supported by a solid portfolio Proficiency in multiple media for design development and documentation Flexible, open to new working methods, and committed to lifelong learning Understanding of design decisions made by others Excellent organisational skills Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information Self-motivated and responsible Proactive and able to demonstrate initiative Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit Flexible and adaptable attitude Ability to build positive relationships at all levels, internally and externally Resilient under pressure, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines effectively Works effectively as part of a team, assisting and supporting others
