Mechanical Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

• Design & Analysis:

  Perform static, rotary, piping, and valve designs using relevant codes such as ASME, TEMA, EJMA, IBR, BS, API, EN/ISO, AD2000 Merkblatt.

• Software Proficiency:

  Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, PV Elite, Nozzle Pro, Stad Pro, Cesar, Ansys, 3D Modelling, E-tank, and others to complete projects.

• Code Compliance:

  Ensure designs comply with ASME, API, IBR, and local standards.

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA):

  Perform and review FEA, FFS, and In-service Failure Analysis (FS).

• Regulatory Knowledge:

  Familiarity with DOSH, Pressure Equipment Directives, PESO SMPV, and Gas Cylinder Rules.

• Client Coordination:

  Review and interpret client technical specifications, provide design solutions, and estimate efforts for task completion.

• Technical Documentation:

  Prepare and approve design appraisal documents ensuring compliance with codes and customer specifications.

• Software Updates:

  Maintain and upgrade design software versions and enhance the design process by developing manual calculation spreadsheets.

• Subcontracting & Coordination:

  Estimate mandays for BD team quoting, manage subcontracting activities, and coordinate with head office for NoBo design activities.

• Industry Exposure:

  Work with leading clients in Oil & Gas, Chemical Process, and Power industries such as ONGC, IOCL, BPCL, Shell, and others.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Software Skills:

  Proficient in AutoCAD, PV Elite, Nozzle Pro, Stad Pro, Cesar, Ansys, 3D Modelling, and E-tank.

• Codes & Standards Knowledge:

  Knowledge of ASME, TEMA, EJMA, IBR, BS, API, EN/ISO, AD2000 Merkblatt.

• Experience:

  5-10 years in mechanical design, preferably within EPC, PMC, TPAI, or manufacturing environments.

• Regulatory Knowledge:

  Understanding of pressure equipment regulations such as DOSH, Pressure Equipment Directives, PESO SMPV, and Gas Cylinder Rules.

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA):

  Experience with FEA, FFS, and In-service failure analysis.

• Education:

  Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• Design Documentation:

  Experience in preparing design calculations, drawings, and design appraisal documents for compliance.
