Design Engineer- PV Solar

Role & Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

• Design and develop electrical systems for solar PV projects as per specifications and industry standards.
  
• Prepare SLDs, equipment layouts, grounding systems, and detailed electrical design documents.
  
• Perform cable sizing, component selection (inverters, transformers, breakers), and power system analysis.
  
• Develop technical specifications and support installation and commissioning teams.
  

Energy Yield Assessment

• Conduct energy modeling using PVsyst/Helioscope and analyze site data for accurate generation forecasts.
  
• Identify system efficiency improvements and recommend design optimizations.
  
• Prepare energy yield reports and integrate performance strategies into project design.
  

Project Lifecycle Management

• Manage electrical design throughout the project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
  
• Maintain design schedules, coordinate with project, civil, and procurement teams, and monitor progress.
  
• Ensure design compliance, manage risks, and maintain accurate design documentation.
  

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure designs meet IEEE, IEC, IS, NEC, and local regulations.
  
• Conduct design QC checks, site surveys, inspections, and support regulatory submissions.
  
• Implement QA processes and participate in audits for continuous improvement.
  

Collaboration & Communication

• Work with cross-functional teams for seamless design integration.
  
• Present technical updates, prepare reports, and mentor junior engineers.
  
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of compliant equipment.
  

General Expectations / Experience

• 310 years of experience in solar PV electrical design.
  
• Proficiency in PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD Electrical, and PV system design.
  
• Strong knowledge of IEEE/IEC/IS/NEC standards and SLD development.
  
• Experience in site surveys, electrical testing, QC, value engineering, and BOM preparation.
  
• Ability to manage full project lifecycle and support commissioning.
  

Work Arrangement

• Work From Office Pondicherry(Mandatory)

  Candidates must be available to work full-time from the Pondicherry office; remote or hybrid options are not available.
