Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Prepare Process plant and piping layouts using Plant 3D software and ACAD 2D.

Prepare / check and understand the P&IDs, carryout pipe and equipment sizing, mechanical design of equipment and piping, Heating / cooling load calculations, heat exchanger sizing.

Prepare detailed specifications of bought out items like pumps, valves, piping, fittings, control valves, heat exchangers, compressors, blowers, vacuum pumps, process equipments , piping supports. Expansion joints. Estimate empty and filled weights and provide details for foundation design.

Carryout pressure vessels design as per design standards like ASME Sec VIII div 1, PV Elite software, API 650 etc

Coordinate with Customer / Engineering consultants to discuss the technical details and resolve comments, queries

Prepare detailed drawings in ACAD 2D, ACAD Inventor and release the same in the system.

Coordinate with Process engineer, instrument engineer and procurement to obtain competitive offers and confirm technical suitability.

Software Proficiency required: ACAD 2D, ACAD PLANT 3D, INVENTOR, EXCEL, Power point, Word,

Pressure vessels: ASME Sec VIII div 1, API 650,

Heat exchangers- TEMA,

Piping standards, Flange standards, fittings etc

Knowledge of materials used in Pharmaceuticals, Bio-pharmaceuticals and Chemicals and their properties is must. (SS 304. 304L, 316, 316L,)

Candidate must be able to independantly work on Green field / Brown field projects covering all process equipment / piping and mechanical

Knowledge of ASME BPE, Minimum safety requirements is required.

Candidate should be able to identify area, where he needs support and be prepared to train himself in first 2-3 months.
