Design Engineer - BU Flashlight

Job objectives :

• Create new products that are innovative, practical and suitable for manufacturing,
• Develop enhancements to existing products to make them more suitable for present customer need.

Job responsibilities :

• Create preliminary artistic drawings in the form of illustrations and prototypes as per consumer research inputs, international / indigenous product study or new concepts.
• Use CAD software to refine designs and create virtual models of products
• Presenting designs, samples and final work to BU / consumer research.
• Utilize 3D printing to create product prototypes that are both non-functional and working in order to evaluate their practicality
• Investigating appropriate materials and production processes
• Project management monitor and support / influence / escalate bottlenecks to meet project timeline.

Key skills required for this position :

• Expert level competency in 3D design with expert level competency in design software like CREO, Solidworks , inventor etc.
• Surface design & creating rendered image of new products to offer to BU for confirmation
• Strong ability in solving problems through design
• Robust CAD skills
• Independent thinker and worker who can easily adapt to a team approach
• Knowledge of plastic moulding process & mould manufacturing.

Essential educational qualification profile of the candidate:

• Degree in mechanical design
• Diploma in Industrial Design from premium institute like NID, Pearl, CEPT etc.
• Minimum 5 years working experience in Home / personal appliance product development.
