Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Manager- Accounts

Department:

Key Purpose of the Role-

Key Accountabilities-


2. Statutory Compliance & Taxation-Ensure timely and accurate filing of TDS, GST, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, and other statutory returns.Assist in completion of tax audits and income tax/GST assessments.Monitor changes in statutory and regulatory requirements and support implementation.Maintain compliance records and ensure proper documentation for all statutory submissions.


3. MIS, Budgeting & Financial Analysis-Prepare and submit monthly MIS and variance analysis for management review.Monitor overhead expenses and highlight deviations.Support budgeting activities and provide data for forecasting and financial planning.Assist in preparation of quarterly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.


4. Payroll & Employee Settlements-Coordinate with HR/Admin for monthly payroll processing through Ascent or in-house systems.Ensure accurate calculation and submission of PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity, and other employee-related statutory payments.Manage employee full & final settlements in coordination with HR.


5. Systems & Process Improvement-Support implementation and stabilization of SAP and alignment with accounting standards/IFRS.Assist in improving processes for better accuracy, control, and efficiency in the finance function.Maintain documentation of accounting processes and SOPs.

Strategic Responsibilities-

  • Provide inputs to improve financial controls and reporting processes.
  • Support the accounts leadership in analysis and data-driven decision-making.

Operational Responsibilities-

Developmental Responsibilities-

  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support training and development of junior accounting staff.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, discipline, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards, GST, TDS, and Income Tax
  • Hands-on experience with Tally, SAP, and MS Excel
  • Good understanding of financial statements and audit processes
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
