Principal accountabilities
Ensure Correct, complete and timely closure of the Books of Account every month as per the Schedule of the Group Accounting Team. Review Financial Statements and work with the Plant Management team to translate them into actionable insights and action plans. Responsible for timely and correct Revenue Recognition. Monitor and review the performance of the BPO unit entrusted with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable processes. Identify Areas of Improvement and process automation. Ensure Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations are tied up to the Books of Account. Own and Maintain the Governance Framework including the Controls Environment ensuring compliance with the Global & Local Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR). Preparation of Local Consolidated Financial Statements as per Ind AS including Notes to Accounts and getting them audited. Working with the Cross Functional Teams to get the Audit Completed as per the timeline. Preparation of the Cost Accounting Records for the purpose of Cost Audit. Partnering with Tax Team to ensure that all Transfer Pricing Documentation is in place and providing support for the Tax Audits. Extend the necessary Support to the Tax Team for various Filings, Assessments. Ensure the Inter Company Balances are regularly reconciled and variances, if any are identified and attended to before the month end. Accounting for Capital Projects / expansion ensuring compliance with the Accounting Standards while working with the Capital Projects Team. Partnering with the Commercial Finance and Metal Accountant to ensure related accounting entries are passed accurately. Prepare ad hoc Plant financial analysis with tactical and strategic decision- making including process optimization suggestions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with Plant Management team and Sector team stakeholders involved in Plant management accounting processes and support the development and adherence to local accounting policies and procedures. Demonstrate a deep understanding of Accounting Standards (IFRS & IndAS).

Working relationships with the plant management teams (in particular, the Commercial Finance / Metal Accountant / FP&A / Commercial functions), Sector Finance functions & Group Tax & Treasury function.

Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience (Technical/ professional knowledge and skills competency)
University degree qualification-Desirable Professional accounting qualification, e.g., CA, CFA or equivalent with 10-12 years of experience. - Essential Significant experience in Financial Accounting and Preparation of Financial Statements as per IFRS / IndAS -Essential Significant and substantial experience within Finance function preferably in the manufacturing environment -Desirable Experience of chemicals / automotive/ manufacturing industry-Desirable Ability to work collaboratively and provide appropriate challenge and insight- Essential Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks, often to tight deadlines- Essential Ability to work effectively with people from different disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds- Essential Good analytical skills and eye to details- Essential Inquiring approach, constantly challenging the status quo, and seeking improvements to existing methods or alternative routes to achieve business goals. -Desirable
