As the Dean of Student Welfare at Vivekananda Global University (VGU) in Jaipur, your role is crucial in fostering a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for nearly 10,000 domestic and international students. Your responsibilities will include overseeing student life, welfare, discipline, counseling, residential life, co-curricular development, and overall campus engagement. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Student Engagement & Development** - Design and implement programs for holistic development and personality growth. - Organize co-curricular, cultural, and recreational activities. - Encourage student participation in campus clubs, societies, and external events. - Plan educational tours, excursions, and learning experiences. - **Student Governance & Representation** - Guide the Student Council and Sports Council. - Facilitate student representation on university committees. - Provide mentorship to student leaders. - **Student Counseling & Support** - Supervise the Student Counseling Cell. - Establish peer support networks and grievance redressal mechanisms. - Communicate with parents/guardians when necessary. - **Campus Discipline & Code of Conduct** - Implement student discipline policies. - Investigate grievances and disciplinary cases. - Maintain a safe and healthy campus environment. - **Inclusivity, Welfare & Residential Life** - Promote diversity and inclusion. - Ensure well-being of international and underrepresented students. - Coordinate with hostel wardens for safety and positive residential experiences. - **Health, Safety & Well-being** - Provide access to medical support and emergency response. - Collaborate with healthcare providers and local authorities. - **Academic Contributions (Under NEP)** - Develop AEC/VAC courses aligned with NEP under the DSW Cell. - **Policy, Administration & Reporting** - Update student welfare policies in compliance with regulatory guidelines. - Serve as a liaison between student organizations and university administration. - Prepare and submit reports on student welfare initiatives. **Qualifications Required:** - Masters Degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. - Minimum 15 years of teaching and/or administrative experience in higher education. - Demonstrated leadership in student welfare or co-curricular administration. - Strong understanding of UGC norms related to student affairs.
