Food Preparation & Production:
Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Kitchen Operations:
Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef with the daily operation of the bakery section.
Quality Control:
Ensure the consistent quality, freshness, and presentation of all baked goods, often monitoring product freshness and applying FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation.
Hygiene & Safety:
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, equipment, and storage areas, strictly adhering to health, safety, and sanitation regulations like HACCP.
Inventory & Stock:
Monitor stock levels, manage ingredient storage, and minimize wastage by properly handling and rotating ingredients.
Staff Training:
Coach and mentor junior kitchen staff (Commis chefs) on correct production methods, skills, and culinary techniques.
Teamwork:
Collaborate effectively with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth and timely service.
Menu Development:
Contribute ideas for new dishes and improvements to the existing bakery menu.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Formal qualification in bakery arts from a recognized culinary institution.
Experience in high-volume bakery production.
Strong knowledge of bakery arts, including various techniques and recipes.
Familiarity with HACCP and other food safety standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication and leadership skills.
