Job Description

As a DB2 Database Administrator at Capgemini, you will leverage your 4+ years of experience to manage, maintain, and optimize DB2 databases on LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) and/or z/OS platforms. Your responsibilities will include ensuring database performance, availability, and security in both development and production environments. You will be involved in installing, configuring, and upgrading DB2 database software and related products, as well as monitoring performance and implementing tuning improvements. Additionally, you will perform backup and recovery operations using native DB2 tools and third-party solutions, manage database security including user access and roles, and design and implement database maintenance plans and automation scripts. Troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues promptly, collaborating with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database design, and participating in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning are also key aspects of this role. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of hands-on experience as a DB2 DBA, possess strong knowledge of DB2 LUW and/or DB2 z/OS environments, and demonstrate proficiency in SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization. Experience with database backup, recovery, and high availability solutions is also required to excel in this role.
