Job Description

Role Overview: You will have 4+ years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator with a strong background in managing, maintaining, and optimizing DB2 databases on LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) and/or z/OS platforms. Your responsibility will include ensuring database performance, availability, and security while supporting development and production environments. You will be involved in installing, configuring, and upgrading DB2 database software and related products, monitoring database performance, implementing tuning improvements, performing backup and recovery operations, managing database security, designing and implementing database maintenance plans and automation scripts, troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues, collaborating with development teams, participating in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning, and maintaining documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database software and related products. - Monitor database performance and implement tuning improvements. - Perform backup and recovery operations using native DB2 tools and third-party solutions. - Manage database security, including user access and roles. - Design and implement database maintenance plans and automation scripts. - Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner. - Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database design. - Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery planning. - Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards. - Support audits and compliance initiatives as required. Qualifications Required: - 4+ years of hands-on experience as a DB2 DBA. - Strong knowledge of DB2 LUW and/or DB2 z/OS environments. - Proficiency in SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization. - Experience with database backup, recovery, and high availability solutions.
