About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Performance Engineer to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries across our database systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in database internals, query execution plans, and performance tuning, providing actionable recommendations to enhance system efficiency and response times. Key Analyze slow-performing queries, stored procedures, and database workloads. Review and interpret SQL execution plans to identify bottlenecks. Recommend and implement query optimization strategies (e.g., indexing, rewriting queries, partitioning). Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and application teams to drive SQL performance improvements. Conduct root cause analysis of database performance issues and suggest solutions. Develop and maintain SQL performance monitoring tools and reports. Assist in capacity planning and optimization of database resources. Provide best practices and training on SQL performance to development and operations teams. Required Skills and Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in SQL performance tuning and optimization. Strong expertise in interpreting SQL execution plans and query profiling. Proficient in major RDBMS platforms (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL). Experience with database indexing strategies, statistics management, and query refactoring. Hands-on experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, AWS RDS Performance Insights). Good understanding of database internals (locking, latching, blocking, deadlocks). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
