As a Data Center Technician (On-site), your main role will involve carrying out installation and maintenance tasks related to data center operations. Your key responsibilities will include: - Test and install various types of cables and optics for new circuits, such as copper, fiber, and power cables. - Provide support for rack and stack operations, assisting server and network teams with hardware deployment. - Perform labeling, patching, and asset tagging according to standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Follow procedural task lists diligently and submit detailed reports. - Conduct functional testing and failure analysis of hardware systems. - Execute planned maintenance activities and circuit migrations. - Create and test RJ45 copper cables, as well as reseat and swap cards and components as necessary. - Clean and inspect optical fibers, including LC fiber scoping. - Replace or install loopbacks and faulty optical cables. - Perform Bit Error Rate (BER) testing. - Replace or reseat line cards and faulty components, and handle RMA processes and diagnostics. - Reboot chassis, configure remote access, and adjust basic storage array settings. - Assist in remote circuit testing using loop-back cables. - Carry out power cycling and complete hardware unit replacements. In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, you will need to be familiar with various tools, keywords, and technical concepts, including: - Technologies: DWDM, IPv4/IPv6, Optical Fiber (MPO), RJ45 - Fiber Tools: VFL, OPM, OTDR, and BERT - Core Activities: Rack/Stack/Jack, Cabling, Configuration, Optimization, Inventory, Documentation - Technical Tasks: Cleaning, Loop-back, Line Card Replacements, BER Testing, Break-fix - Systems: Remote Access Tools, Network Hardware, Storage Arrays - Support Areas: SLA/KPI, RCA/CAR, Asset Management, Fault Diagnosis Your role as a Data Center Technician will require more than 3 years of experience in data center operations, and proficiency in English at B2 level.
