Database Management Professional - Global Markets IT

Position Purpose

Purpose: Selected candidate will contribute to building robust & resilient PL/SQL components alongside developers across Mumbai & London. Responsible for providing L3 support and maintaining functionalities that keep up with demands of the business and technological obsolescence.

The application is primarily backend application developed in Oracle PL/SQL, Pro*C with VB.Net based user interface.

Responsibilities

• Development of performance critical components in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to PL/SQL code.
• Contribute to 3rd line support including support from home as part of a global rotational system.
• Expected to show a steep learning curve to understand the application flows.
• Learn about the product and all parts of the system code that makes it work.
• Perform code reviews and technically guide juniors.
• Expected to take on tasks independently and own them across all stages of the SDLC.
• Adhere to agile team practices and processes.
• Status reporting to technical and functional managers.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

• Sound knowledge of Software Engineering and Object-Oriented programming.
• High level of comfort and expertise in Oracle PL/SQL.
• Ability to understand complex PL/SQL, Pro*C & Python components.
• Optimizing database performance by tuning SQL queries and PL/SQL code.
• Good in investigating issues and providing solutions.
• Possess the ability to explain and articulate solutions and work constructively with others including more senior and junior members in the team to implement the same.
• Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and take the lead solving business focused technical problems.
• Have a can-do attitude that focuses on resolving the overall problem in the medium and long term as well as meeting the short-term objectives.
• Willingness and ability to put in effort even when not explicitly requested to do so.

Specific Qualifications

• 12+ years work experience in IT Application development using Oracle PL/SQL
