Key Responsibilities

Database Design & Development

Design normalized and denormalized database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.

Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support business logic.

Develop ETL processes using SQL for data integration across systems.

Implement partitioning, indexing strategies, and query optimization for large datasets.

Performance Tuning

Analyze slow-running queries and

Use profiling tools (SQL Profiler, EXPLAIN plans) to

Implement caching, indexing, and query rewriting techniques.

Monitor and tune database performance for OLTP and OLAP workloads.

Operations & Maintenance

Perform routine backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.

Apply patches, upgrades, and security fixes to SQL servers.

Troubleshoot SQL-related issues and provide root cause analysis.

Migration & Modernization

Support migration of on-premises SQL databases to cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL).
