Overview of the role The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in database installation, configuration, performance tuning, clustering, and backup management. The role involves ensuring database reliability, storage optimization, and data availability through effective management of SAN systems and backup tools like Commvault. Roles and Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain various databases including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Oracle. Schedule and perform both manual and automated database backups and restorations. Configure and manage database replication and clustering setups. Install and configure storage devices such as DAS, NAS, and SAN. Allocate LUNs for database and storage use. Set up and manage backups from servers and storage devices using backup tools such as Commvault. Conduct regular audits and technological reviews for databases, storage, and backup systems to ensure optimal performance and security. Desired Skills/Background B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc. with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Relevant OEM certifications are highly preferred. Proven experience in managing MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Oracle. Hands-on experience in database performance tuning and cluster configurations. Experience with SAN setup, LUN allocation, and storage device configuration (Hitachi preferred). Proficiency in backup scheduling and restoration using Commvault or similar solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication abilities.
