Job Description

You will participate in database design and development processes, applying best practices and standards with minimal guidance. Your responsibilities will include implementing new databases or modifying existing ones to meet business requirements, with occasional oversight. Additionally, you will perform routine database maintenance tasks independently, including backups, restores, and performance tuning. Monitoring database health and performance, identifying and resolving common issues independently will be part of your role. You will manage routine database security tasks, including user access control and security monitoring, escalating complex security matters when needed. You are expected to execute data migration projects independently for standard scenarios, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Supporting database integration with other systems and applications and implementing standard connections will also be within your scope of work. Analysis of database performance and identification of bottlenecks, along with implementing appropriate solutions, will be crucial. You will also be responsible for implementing performance improvement strategies such as indexing, query optimization, and configuration adjustments. Furthermore, contributing to developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans for databases and executing disaster recovery testing procedures will be part of your duties. Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database structures, procedures, and configuration settings is essential. You will also be required to create and update user manuals and training materials independently. Diagnosing and resolving most database-related issues independently, collaborating with application developers and system administrators, will also be part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with Oracle and PostgreSQL. Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle and PostgreSQL, along with a good understanding of database design, normalization, and performance tuning, is required.
