Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler to design and develop efficient data models that support our business intelligence, data warehousing, and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements, create logical and physical data models, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and data governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze business and system requirements to design logical, physical, and conceptual data models.
• Develop and maintain data models using industry-standard modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, IBM InfoSphere, etc.).
• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, DBAs, and ETL developers to implement data models into databases and data warehouses.
• Ensure data models comply with enterprise data standards and governance policies.
• Conduct data profiling and impact analysis to assess data quality and integrity.
• Optimize database structure, indexing strategies, and data storage for performance and scalability.
• Document and communicate data models, metadata, and data flow diagrams to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and testing activities related to data solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging data modeling techniques, technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) as a Data Modeler or similar role.
• Strong expertise in modeling concepts: normalization, denormalization, star schema, snowflake schema, etc.
• Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin Data Modeler, SAP PowerDesigner, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.) and data warehousing techniques.
• Good knowledge of SQL and database design principles.
• Familiarity with ETL processes, BI tools, and data governance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in [industry e.g., insurance, Manufacturing].
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native data modeling.
• Understanding of metadata management and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Certification in data modeling or related areas (e.g., CDMP) is an advantage.
