Systems Developer

You will work collaboratively with customers, analysts, developers, and implementation team members to deploy, manage, diagnose, debug, design, and prototype SAS and third-party enterprise-class software systems.

You will contribute and help the team in efforts to improve quality, efficiency, and automation around service delivery tasks. A keen eye for continuous improvement and a passion to drive it in all aspects of the job is required.

Individuals who excel in this role:

  • Understand software development & how to read/write code or scripts
  • Are familiar with deployment and integration methodologies and best practices
  • Have worked in complex infrastructure environments with a variety of services, working both independently and together
  • Understands the interdependencies between multiple systems and software within a computing infrastructure
  • know about security, performance, server design, cross-platform architectures, SAS products, SAS solutions, storage, networking, and enterprise hardware.
  • Understands the interdependencies between multiple systems and software within a computing infrastructure

You will

  • As a Systems Developer for the Delivery Services team in SAS s Cloud and Information Services (CIS) division, a person should be responsible for Data Integration Services in our hosted environments.
  • Should leverage deep technical skillset and knowledge to provide technical leadership, guidance, and support for customer engagements through the implementation of Data Integration Services.
  • Integrate SAS software with systems and other third-party software
  • Should work collaboratively with customers, analysts, developers, and implementation team members to deliver world-class SAS service.
  • Generate documentation for architecture, installation, and ongoing operational support of customer environments
  • Should partner with Customer Success Manager to work through any technical obstacles the customer may experience.
  • Should build the foundation for ongoing reliability by defining key performance metrics aligned to the customers success criteria. Through documentation, automation, and knowledge management, you will enable global teams to respond quickly and efficiently to operational incidents.
  • Should support the team with training, expertise, mentoring, and best practices related to enterprise application technology, architecture, and support.
  • Should work with global R&D, Product, Technical Support, and CIS teams to drive customer satisfaction and ensure service quality across all our hosted and remotely managed customer environments.

  • SAS - Base SAS, SAS Management Console, SAS Environment Manager
  • SAS 9. 4 & Viya Product Suites.
  • Azure, AWS, and VMware-based cloud computing environments (compute, storage, networking, etc. )
  • Working on advanced authentication
  • Containerized software applications and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • ITIL management software - ServiceNow, CMDB, Jira, Git
  • Middleware / Web-based applications (tcserver, apache, JBoss, etc. )
  • Commercial, OpenSource, and custom monitoring/alerting tools Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana

  • Awareness of Azure blob and ADLS

  • Expert in PowerShell and Unix Shell scripting

  • SAS Solutions integration with external data sources such as Oracle, Snowflake, Hadoop, Teradata, etc.

  • SAS Data connectors for different types of DBs

  • Analytical skills to resolve Network/connectivity issues

  • Python scripting

  • Attention to detail and accuracy - while maintaining a solid awareness of the big picture .
  • Ability to communicate with global peers and management in a clear, straightforward, and effective way.
  • Knowledge of all types of advanced authentication techniques and their integration with SAS Solution (OKTA, AD, SAML, SCIM, etc. )
  • Third-party software installation and integration with SAS Software
  • Azure / Cloud Technologies knowledge
  • 3+ years of technical experience, including:
    • 2+ years of experience in Enterprise-class software Integrations, installation & configuration.
    • 1+ years of experience in Integration Technologies Implementation, support or consulting.
    • 1+ years of experience with UNIX or Linux supporting SAS or enterprise-class applications.
    • 1+ Years of Experience with implementing integrations with SAS on complex architectures within Cloud and Hosting Technologies (Microsoft Azure (Preferred), AWS, etc. . . )
  • Working & Expert knowledge of Solutions:
    • Integration of SAS Products with different third-party tools and technologies
    • Working knowledge of cloud services like Azure, AWS, and GCP, and integrating them with Kubernetes.
    • PowerShell and Unix Shell scripting
  • Linux system administration tasks, including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.

Nice to have /

  • ETL knowledge

  • Kubernetes, Docker

  • Data Integration Technologies experience

  • SAS 9. 4, Viya Awareness or Certifications
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud COMPUTE, STORAGE, NETWORK, SECURITY
  • Know-how Authentication techniques and their integration, along with debugging
  • Working knowledge of Python and Ansible for automation.
  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification
  • ITSM Technologies (JIRA, ServiceNow) awareness and usage
  • Multi-lingual proficiency (English language is required)
