DATA ENGINEER

As a Technical Specialist in Data Services at our company, your role will involve working on data pipelines and engineering project deliveries, as well as providing production support activities. Your daily tasks will include creating and supporting data pipelines, solving production and pre-production issues, working on incidents, problems, and service improvements, and contributing to engineering initiatives. You will be part of a global database support team and will be actively involved in supporting the Emerging Services estate. Your expertise in AWS/Azure Cloud devops, including Terraform, Lambda (Python and Java), microservices, and CICD pipelines, will be crucial for ensuring maximum uptime of the production infrastructure. Additionally, knowledge of technologies like NiFi, Spark, and Kafka, along with working experience with Database and Oracle Golden Gate, will be advantageous for this role. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop secure data pipelines. - Provide 24x7 support for the Production Emerging Data Services estate. - Strategize data migration from Data Centre to Cloud, including Batch and CDC migration. - Focus on automation and process improvement. - Rapid response to high severity incidents. - Support and delivery of assigned project work. - Proactively detect and resolve issues and monitor services. - Provide off-business hours support on a rotation basis. - Collaborate with other Business and Technology teams. Experience and Qualifications Required: - Excellent Cloud Devops Engineer with experience in supporting CICD Pipeline using Terraform and cloud formation. - Working experience with Lambda, microservices, and API. - Data migration experience using NiFi, Spark, Kafka, and Oracle Golden-Gate. - Support of engineering pipelines, monitoring, housekeeping, upgrade and patching, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning. - Proficiency in ITIL processes. Interpersonal Skills: - Team player. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Good analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to adapt to changing business needs and learn new skills quickly. - Customer-focused with a strong service ethic. - Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Technical Skills: - Above 6 years of progressive working knowledge as a Devops data engineer. - Hands-on experience with NiFi, Kafka, Big Data (Spark), Cloud (AWS/Azure), and automation/scripting expertise in Terraform, Lambda (Python/Java), Cloud formation. - Performance tuning with Data Pipelines. - Basic knowledge of Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server.
