Job Description

ICRISAT seeks applications from highly motivated professionals for the position of Associate Scientist Analytical Support. This is a joint position between the Data Management, Analytical Support Cluster, and the ICRISAT Development Center. The candidate will report to the Cluster Lead of the Data Management and the Analytical Support Cluster. The new incumbent will work closely with both clusters and also support multidisciplinary scientists by assisting with the design, analysis, and interpretation of their experiments and data.

Assist ICRISAT s scientists in the planning of agricultural field trials.
Generate randomizations and trial layouts for field experiments.
Support the scientists in data curation, simple and complex analysis, and interpretation of the results from varying disciplines.
Develop and/or refine existing SAS /R /ASReml-R codes for data curation, analysis, and visualization.
Actively contribute to data analysis and interpretations.
Contribute to conducting training programmes for both ICRISAT s scientists and National Agricultural Research Scientists (NARS) in data management and data analysis.
Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibility and Qualification:

Ph.D. in Agricultural Statistics, with a minimum of two years of post-Ph.D. experience in agricultural research or similar / related field
Experience in generating modern experimental designs in field trials (breeding and agronomy).
Knowledge of multi-environment trial analyses using mixed-models, interpretable machine learning models for getting insights from agricultural data, spatial and stability analyses, heritability, genetic gain estimations of field trials, genomic selection, and quantitative genetics.
Use of statistical software such as R, SAS, SPSS, STATA, GENSTAT, ASREML-R, and Python and related technical expertise
Fluency in spoken and written English is important and knowledge in any other local language will be an added advantage
Demonstrate strong Interpersonal skills, communication, and teamwork, across diverse teams and stakeholders
