Dance Teacher

The Dance Teacher is responsible for imparting structured dance education aligned with CBSE co-scholastic guidelines, fostering students’ physical fitness, creativity, cultural awareness, and self-expression through various dance forms.

Key Responsibilities

Academic & Instructional

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons for Primary, Middle, and Secondary classes.
• Teach various dance forms such as Classical (Kathak/Bharatanatyam/Odissi), Folk, Contemporary, Bollywood, & Western.
• Design lesson plans aligned with CBSE Art Education and Co-Scholastic curriculum.
• Prepare students for school assemblies, annual functions, cultural events, and competitions.
• Integrate rhythm, movement, coordination, posture, and expression into lessons.

Assessment & Student Development

• Assess students on participation, discipline, skill development, and performance as per CBSE guidelines.
• Maintain records of student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and mentor talented students for inter-school and board-level events.

Co-Curricular & Event Support

• Choreograph performances for Annual Day, Sports Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, and other school programs.
• Support house activities, cultural clubs, and extracurricular initiatives.
• Coordinate with music teachers, class teachers, and event committees.

Classroom & Discipline Management

• Ensure student safety during practice sessions.
• Maintain discipline, punctuality, and decorum in dance classes.
• Manage dance props, costumes, and equipment responsibly.

Professional & Administrative

• Attend staff meetings, training programs, workshops, and school functions.
• Collaborate with academic staff to support holistic development of students.
• Uphold school policies, CBSE norms, and professional ethics.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dance / Performing Arts / Fine Arts or
• Diploma or Certification from a recognized dance institution
• B.Ed. (Preferred, as per CBSE norms)

Experience

• Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in a school (CBSE preferred)
• Experience in choreography for school-level events is desirable

Skills & Competencies

• Strong command over one or more dance forms
• Good communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to work with children of different age groups
• Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for teaching

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
