Cyber Security Engineer - Chennai

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux-based environments at the administration level.
• Implement, monitor, and maintain Group Policies for secure system operations.
• Address and remediate vulnerabilities identified in Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) reports through timely patching and configuration changes.
• Work closely with the SOC team to understand operating system-related alerts, incidents, and recommendations.
• Perform server setup, deployment, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Maintain system security by following industry best practices and implementing security hardening measures.
• Ensure timely patch management for both OS platforms.
• Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and incident responses.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven system administrator experience in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience in Group Policy Objects (GPO) creation and management.
• Experience with patch management tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN) and system backup processes.
• Understanding of security concepts such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions (basic level).
• Ability to work with VAPT reports and implement remediation steps.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with industry security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Awareness of cybersecurity principles, practices, and risk management.
• Certifications such as MCSA, RHCSA, Security+, CEH will be an added advantage.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
