Job Title: Detail Drawing & Cutting Master

Department: Interior Design / Production
Location: Chalakudi
Experience Required: 3–7 Years (Interior Fitout / Modular Furniture / Carpentry)

Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing precise detail drawings, cutting lists, and production sheets for interior projects. Works closely with the design, production, and carpentry teams to ensure accurate execution of drawings and material optimization.

Key Responsibilities:1. Detail Drawing & Drafting

• Prepare detailed interior drawings (2D/3D) for furniture, partitions, ceilings, counters, panelling, wardrobes, kitchens, etc.
• Convert conceptual/client drawings into working/shop drawings.
• Create section views, elevations, joinery details, hardware placements, and material annotations.
• Use AutoCAD and other software to prepare technical drawings as per site standards.

2. Cutting List Preparation

• Prepare accurate cutting lists for plywood, MDF, laminates, veneer, multiwood, and other materials.
• Optimize material usage to reduce wastage.
• Coordinate with the production team to ensure the cutting list matches drawing specifications.

3. Coordination with Site & Production Teams

• Communicate with carpenters, factory teams, and supervisors for execution.
• Provide clarification on dimensions, edges, joinery, and assembly methods.
• Modify drawings based on site conditions and measurement changes.

4. Quality & Accuracy

• Verify measurements as per BOQ and site requirements.
• Ensure that drawings align with manufacturing capability and installation feasibility.
• Check that cutting lists match drawing dimensions before release.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain revision history of drawings and lists.
• Submit daily/weekly status updates.
• Coordinate approvals with architects/designers/project managers.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Experience in cutting list preparation (furniture/interiors)
• Knowledge of carpentry joinery methods and modular fitting details
• Understanding of interior materials: plywood, laminates, veneer, MDF, hardware
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
• Strong attention to detail & accuracy
• Coordination and communication skills

Preferred Software Knowledge:

• AutoCAD
• SketchUp (optional)
• MS Excel (for cutting lists)
• Cabinet Vision/Polyboard (optional)

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Civil, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field
• Or relevant technical experience in interior fit-out/drafting
