Summary:The Change and Configuration Manager ensures that all project changes are properly analyzed, approved, implemented, and traced across the software development lifecycle. The role drives ASPICE SUP.8 (Configuration Management) and SUP.10 (Change Request Management) compliance by maintaining control over baselines, tools, and change traceability while supporting alignment with Requirements Engineering and quality management processes.Roles and Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain Change Request (CR) and Configuration Management (CM) processes in accordance with ASPICE SUP.8 and SUP.10.Manage the complete lifecycle of change requests "” creation, evaluation, approval, implementation, and closure.Analyze the impact, risk, and feasibility of proposed changes in collaboration with system, software, and test teams.Maintain bidirectional traceability between change requests, requirements, test cases, and related work products.Monitor change implementation progress and ensure all CR-related data is documented in an audit-proof and controlled manner.Facilitate change control board (CCB) meetings and ensure decisions are properly recorded and communicated.Define and maintain configuration baselines for software and system components.Ensure correct versioning, release tagging, and repository integrity for all configuration items.Support project management and quality teams during ASPICE assessments, QMS audits, and baseline reviews.Drive continuous improvement of SUP.8 and SUP.10 activities and tool usage across projects.Professional and Technical
Skills:Strong understanding of Automotive SPICE process areas SUP.8, SUP.10, and related Requirements Engineering activities.Hands-on experience with Change Management and Configuration Management tools such as Jira, IBM Rational ClearCase, Git, Codebeamer, or Polarion.Experience establishing and maintaining traceability between requirements, CRs, and test results.Familiarity with version control, branching strategies, baselining, and release documentation.Working knowledge of Change Control Boards (CCB) and risk-based change analysis.Good understanding of cybersecurity change impact analysis and related controls.Strong analytical, planning, and stakeholder management skills.Excellent organizational and data management skills with a structured approach to documentation.Assertive and clear communication with cross-functional and customer stakeholders.Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to summarize complex information effectively.Self-driven and proactive in ensuring compliance and process maturity.Must Have skillsConfiguration managementGood to Have:Aspice.
Additional Information:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related engineering field.5+ years of experience in automotive embedded systems or software lifecycle management.Prior involvement in ASPICE assessments, Configuration audits, or Process improvement initiatives.Certifications such as Automotive SPICE Provisional Assessor, CMII (Configuration Management Institute), or ISTQB Advanced Test Manager are an advantage.
