This includes using advanced technology, responding to changes in the patient's condition, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal care.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Patient Monitoring:

Closely monitor patients' cardiovascular status, including heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, oxygenation, and neurological condition. Perform assessments such as arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, pulse oximetry, and continuous monitoring of vital signs.
  • Post-Operative Care:

  • Medication Administration:

Administer prescribed medications, including sedatives, analgesics, and anti-arrhythmic drugs, while monitoring for side effects and adverse reactions. Adjust dosages as needed under the direction of the physician.
  • Ventilator and ECMO Support:

  • Invasive Monitoring:

  • Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with the cardiothoracic surgical team, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Documentation:

Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, interventions, and progress in electronic medical records (EMR). Maintain confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies and legal requirements.
  • Emergency Response:

Respond to emergencies (e.g., cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, respiratory failure) in a timely and effective manner, utilizing ACLS protocols and other advanced interventions.
  • Quality Improvement:

Participate in quality improvement activities, infection control practices, and continuing education to ensure up-to-date and evidence-based patient care.
